The National Elections Commission has released the official timetable for the pending Senatorial by-election in Montserrado County.
The Chairman of NEC James Fromayan told a news conference Thursday, the official date for the by-election is November 10 2009.
He said nomination of candidates would run from September 12 to 26 while the final list of qualified candidates would be published on October 14, 2009.
Mr. Fromayan said political campaign would commence immediately after the candidates' names are published and will run up to November 8.
The NEC Chairman said official results would be announced November 14 while a possible run-off date is scheduled for November 24, 2009.
Mr. Fromayan said the Commission would remain engaged with registered political parties, alliances and coalitions as well as its partners to ensure a smooth process.
Montserrado County has a total of four hundred ninety six thousand five hundred eight registered voters throughout its fourteen electoral districts.
Meanwhile, the Commission has put the budget for the Montserrado County Senatorial by-election at one point two million U.S. dollars. The Chairman of NEC James Fromayan said the by-election budget takes into account a possible run-off.
